Relax & Calming

  • Also known as "Cananga" is commonly found or cultivated in tropical rainforests of Indonesia, Phillipines, Comoro and Polynesia. The Comoros is the main producer of Ylang Ylang Essential Oil, followed by Madagascar.
  • Its name derived from Filipino "alang-alang", meaning "flower of flowers", due to its bright color and invigorating smell.
  • In Indonesia, Ylang Ylang flowers, believed to possess aphrodisiac properties, are traditionally sprinkled on the beds of newlywed couples. In the Philippines, healers use Ylang Ylang essential oil to treat cuts, burns, and bites from both insects and snakes. In the Molucca islands, the oil was used to make a popular hair pomade called Macassar Oil.
