Natural Body Scrubs for Smoother Skin, Made in Malaysia
TANAMERA makes seven body scrubs, built on four different exfoliants: coffee grounds, Himalayan rock salt, brown sugar, and the traditional spice blends behind lulur and boreh. Prices run from RM59.90 to RM99.90. All are made in Malaysia by Tanamera Tropical Spa Sdn Bhd, a business that has been formulating for Asian spas for decades.
Which one you want comes down to your skin and your grit tolerance. Salt is the coarsest and suits legs, feet and thicker skin. Sugar dissolves as you work it, so it is gentler and better for dry or reactive skin. Coffee grounds sit in between. Lulur and boreh are the traditional route, rice and spice based, and are used as much for the ritual as the exfoliation.

How to use
- Shower first and leave your skin damp. Scrubbing dry skin drags.
- Work a handful in circles, starting at your feet and moving up. Spend longer on knees, elbows and heels.
- Rinse without soap so you keep the oils the scrub leaves behind.
- Moisturise while your skin is still damp.
Once or twice a week is enough for most people. Salt scrubs are coarse enough that once a week suits most skin. Skip it entirely on sunburn, broken skin, or within 24 hours of shaving or waxing.
